Before launching into dates of future events etc. We would very much like to express our appreciation to John Forshaw in acknowledgement for the superb evening titled – ‘ A Hundred Years of Breamore ‘.
The goodhumoured and highly informative presentation went up like an overinflated helium balloon and raised £424-00 which John would like equally distributed between The Hulse Hall and St. Mary’s Church Breamore. Anyone who was unable to attend the event shouldn’t feel too disheartened as we are currently in negotiations which hopefully will result in John carrying out a repeat matinee performance one afternoon sometime in the New Year.
Thank you to committee members for all of the help setting-up the event and for refreshments provided – it was so obviously much appreciated by the 80 plus persons who attended.
Reflecting on how successful these kinds of evenings are ie where the social and natural history of Breamore are portrayed and presented in such an entertaining and animated manner ( remembering how well Gerald Ponting’s photographic depiction followed by ‘ Call my Bluff’ Larry Skeats went- both, incidentally, arranged by Edna Dymott ) leads me to consider just how much pleasure and enjoyment they engender.
Please contact any of us on the committee with ideas/feedback.
The very best of wishes for 2013 Dennis White (chairman)
